Brandon Smith - President

Brandon is an Industrial Designer with over 20 years of experience in the playground industry. He graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Industrial Design from the College of Architecture, which has deeply influenced his approach to design, blending functionality with aesthetics. His journey in the playground world began even before he moved to Colorado in 2004, as he worked for several years as a designer in the playground industry. This gave him a well-rounded understanding of playgrounds and play spaces from multiple angles—product design, layout, and how to create spaces that truly serve and inspire kids.

Since moving to Colorado, he has continued his work in the playground sector, drawing on his background in both product and layout design to create dynamic, engaging play environments. In 2017, he founded A to Z Recreation after working with Made in the Schade for over ten years.. Now, Brandon is proud to lead A to Z as he continues to bring unique, custom-designed playgrounds to communities, enriching the lives of children and families across Colorado and beyond.

When Brandon is not designing playgrounds, he enjoys diving into a good book, catching a movie, and most importantly, spending time with his kids—visiting playgrounds together and seeing firsthand how they interact with the spaces we create. He is passionate about designing play environments that foster creativity, social interaction, and development for children of all ages.

If you’re looking for someone who can help you design a playground that’s as imaginative as it is functional, Brandon would love to connect and bring your vision to life!

Michael Muriett - Sales Representative

Michael has been deeply involved in the playground industry since 2020, working across the Denver Metropolitan area and serving communities in Northeast Colorado, Denver, and Aurora. Before moving to Denver, he spent several years providing playground, park, and recreational products in Arizona, which gave him a broad perspective on designing and building play spaces that truly meet the needs of diverse communities.

As a Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) since 2019, Michael is committed to ensuring that every playground he designs is not only innovative but also safe and accessible for children of all abilities. His design philosophy is rooted in the 6 Pillars of Play—Research, Design, Innovation, Development, Connection, and Wellness—and he is constantly staying on top of the latest trends in play to bring fresh, exciting ideas to every project.

For Michael, Universal Design and Play for ALL are non-negotiable. His goal is always to create spaces where every child feels welcomed, valued, and inspired to explore, grow, and connect with others. When he designs a playground, he wants the experience to leave children in awe—from their first steps onto the playground to the endless adventures they’ll have every time they play.

One of his proudest recent achievements is the Fort Lupton Recreation Center, the 2024 CPRA Columbine Award Winner for Renovated Park Design. This project truly embodies his design approach, creating a space where both children and adults can come together and be inspired by the power of play.

If you're looking for someone who is passionate about creating innovative, safe, and inclusive playgrounds, Michael loves to collaborate and bring your vision to life!

Audrey Smith - Social Media & Marketing

Audrey is a passionate social media and marketing specialist with a deep love for creativity, education, and the outdoors. Based in Colorado since 2004, I’ve spent over 14 years in the classroom, teaching young minds about writing and literature as a teacher, before pivoting into the exciting world of digital marketing and brand storytelling.

With a background in Art (B.A.) and a M.S. Ed. in secondary education in English Language Arts, I’ve developed a unique skill set that blends creativity, strategic thinking, love of the written language, and a deep understanding of how people learn and engage. This has been invaluable in my work crafting compelling digital marketing campaigns that connect with communities, spark curiosity, and inspire action.

I now focus my energy on promoting A to Z Recreation in the playground and outdoor industries across Colorado and Wyoming. These regions are close to my heart, and I’m passionate about bringing safe, innovative play experiences to kids and families. As a mom, I’ve spent numerous hours on playgrounds across the Front Range, and I’ve built strong campaigns and social media strategies that not only highlight products but also educate communities on the importance of outdoor play and active lifestyles for children’s development.

When Audrey is not creating social media campaigns, you can find her outdoors hiking in the beautiful Colorado mountains, paddleboarding at Chatfield State Park with her kids, creating new quilts, or curled up reading a new book. She is a true believer in the power of play for kids and playgrounds being a place to bring the community together.
